Has in flight wifi ever actually worked?

I’ve paid for it, I’ve tried it for free. Jetblue, delta, American Airlines, United, etc. Trips to Asia, South America, Europe, and the US...and never, one single time, has the WiFi worked. Can someone please give me one example of a success story?
