Hello travelers, any suggestions on cool places my wife and I can go visit in March next year? (stories encouraged)

Bit of context first, we are leaving the last week of march into april 2020. We are from Ohio and looking to go somewhere not basic, if that makes sense.

So here is kind of what we are looking for:

  1. unique places that are hard to go to when we have kids
  2. somewhere around $3-5k budget wise
  3. doesn’t have to be warm necessarily, but not freezing
  4. we don’t want to be busy sight seeing, so we want to avoid tourist traps
