Hotwire cancelled my hotel without contacting me, their customer service said it was flagged as fraud and to call the fraud department but it just leads to a full voicemail

Sorry if this isn't the right sub, but there's no hotwire sub and I'm wondering if anyone's experienced anything similar.

So I showed up for my hotel the other day with a confirmation e-mail and was told by the desk they received a reservation and it was then cancelled. Hotwire never contacted me to tell me.

I called hotwire's customer support and was told my reservation was flagged as fraud, they couldn't help me and I'd have to call the fraud department. The number for the department I was given was just a full mailbox telling me to leave a message.

I called back customer support and was told the same thing and have called the 'fraud department' and the voicemail has just been full.

I called my bank and explained everything and they said they'd process a charge back but recommended I keep trying to contact Howtire.

I'm honestly so confused though.

I booked through their website, I got a confirmation e-mail, the Hotel saiid they received a reservation and it was then cancelled, and two different people from Hotwire's customer support told me call a full voicemail.

Anyone experienced anything similar? It feels like a scam and I'm hoping I don't have to wait two months for a charge back.

tl;dr: I'm never using Hotwire again and neither should you
