Valuable lesson learnt in Vietnam

Currently travelling around SEA, in Vietnam at the moment and I just got absolutely rinsed by a taxi driver outside of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. On grab the five minute journey cost 25k dong and this taxi driver charged me over 20 times that. 502k dong for a five minute journey and I watched the route he took on google maps too, he at least doubled the journey length.

Luckily for me this wasn't a longer journey or I would have been a lot worse off. I've learnt a valuable lesson today and it's just a reminder to never ever take a taxi when offered one. Always use grab across south east Asia or you will get charged a ridiculous fare.

Anyone else got a similar story?
