Advice on where to run away from family over the impending holidays.

So my partner and I love each other very much and, living in NYC, always have to travel to family for Thanksgiving and Christmas (and birthdays and graduations and new babies and funerals and and and.) We buy better presents, we liven up the day, we rent the cars, we buy the tickets, we schlep, we bring food, we cook, we deal with some of the crazier members of our immediate family who seem hellbent on ruining life in general, all at not insignificant expense, and I'm pretty sure we're ready to not put ourselves through all that this year.

We have a dog we're crazy about and travels with us everywhere, so we have to keep the trip domestic, to avoid weird quarantines and the sort but we are looking for a good place to just do us this Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Ideally, we'd like to go somewhere a little less frequented by john and jane q public since hotels drive prices up in and around those times and we're specifically trying to get away from it all. Extra credit for hotels and resorts that take marriott bonvoy points. ;)
