How cruel is thr china winter?i keep hearing it is intense but want to see how bad it really is

I'm planning to go to Shanghai in December. What's the lowest temperature and how strong are the winds?

I've been to Japan in December, typical temperature was 8-12 degrees and it was a little cold but still bearable without strong winds.

Will Shanghai be similar?
