Hi all!
My friend and I are having trouble pinning down how much cash (CAD to €/£) to bring to Greece, Dublin, and London!
All our flights, accommodations, and tours have been paid in advance. Baggage will be paid online. I can look up museum/historical site tickets. Any shopping/large purchases will be put on credit cards.
I had a quick look at Lonely Planet so I have a low budget idea of €15/day in Greece, €20-25/day in Dublin, and £5-35/day in London for food. Our main concern is food (lunch & dinner) and transit costs.
Here’s our itinerary (travel included):
Euros €:
Thessaloniki- 3 days (bus from/to airport arranged) Athens- 5 days (cab x 2 from/to airport)
arrive 11:15 pm/leave 9am
Dublin- 5 days (cab x 2 from/to airport)
arrive 11:20am/leave 7:10am
Pounds £:
Derby- 6 days (train from/to London)
London- 5 days (express or tube to Heathrow)
Public transit is cheaper but we’re trying to estimate cab costs just in case.
This site for Athens says €38 (5am-midnight); €50 (midnight-5am) is fixed for airport to Athens centre and vice versa. This prebooking says €58 due. Beats app estimates €26-34.
Uber in Dublin estimates €44-60 and Civitatis estimates €25-35.
My rough estimate was €400 and £300 (my bank in London doesn’t charge for withdrawals). We plan to walk a lot.
Am I forgetting anything?
Many thanks!
Edit: I meant to say I’m exchanging CAD to €/£ ahead of time. My mistake for the confusion.
