Looking for naturey things on Brazil south coast, between Florianopolis and Criciúma

Hello.

I land in Florianopolis next Wednesday 7th (!) at 11pm, and have two days (one night) to get from Florianopolis to Iberaquera by car Friday evening. I looked into Florianopolis and honestly was not particularly enamoured with what I saw. I like driving, and I'd rather do smallish hikes in the mountains with nice views. I'm not interested in beaches really, unless they have coastal walks, so I'm guessing I should not hang around on Florianopolis?

I found the SC-390 west from Tubarão which looks great, and ideally I would find a place to stay in the area too, for Thursday night. Is there anywhere else inside this area that I should consider? I'm looking for: nice drives, nice views, greenery, nice towns to stay in that don't just cater to the beaches. For example Morretes looks very nice (especially this train ride), but I can't get that far north in the time I'm there.
