I booked a flight from Nadi to Sydney last night via Skyscanner and paid through Trip.com. I have only ever booked flights through American Express travel and I always receive the agency and airline confirmation straight away.
The flight is in December so I decided to try Skyscanner as the ticket is for a relative. When the payment was complete I received an email saying the booking is almost complete and I will receive the ticket and confirmation once Trip.com confirm.
I thought this was odd so I called Trip.com to ask when I can expect the ticket and the person I spoke to said they will issue the ticket at least 160 hours prior to departure. I then called Fiji Airways and they said the they have the booking in their system and the ticket/confirmation really should be sent as payment is complete and they received my relatives booking.
Fiji Airways also said that I need the ticket from Trip.com in order to check in etc. I’m stressing as this new to me and I really want my relative to be here for Christmas.
I’ve looked online and the reviews aren’t great. Should I be worried?
