Anyone use a travel credit card as their primary travel insurance while travelling abroad?

I have a Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR), which I used to book my flight and make other reservations with. One of the benefits of the card is travel related insurance such as trip cancellation insurance, baggage and trip delay reimbursement, emergency medical evacuation, emergency medical and dental benefit, etc. I compared the benefits with a couple of international travel insurance providers, and they seem quite similar to me.

The CSR, however, mentions this "Coverage is supplemental to and in excess of the cardholder’s medical insurance and any other valid and collectible insurance or reimbursement". I have medical insurance, but I am not sure they cover outside of USA. I will confirm it with them before I go. But I was just wondering if anyone here has used their travel credit card as primary insurance on their trips? Any input will be helpful.
