Do I need anything more than My license to go and come back from St Thomas U.S virgin islands? (U.S citizen-NY)

I already bought a ticket for a week in St Thomas. But I read somewhere that I might need my birth certificate. Which, I do not currently have access to. My mom lost it. Has anyone had any trouble with traveling only with a NY license? That is the only photo issued i.D have I right now.

I'm kind of worried I might not be able to go or get back home! I did already call Delta(that's what I'm taking-from jfk) and they said I'll be fine with just my license. But then I thought about leaving St.Thomas, wondering if they'll give me a hard time.
