Hi there! I'll be in Munich starting December 8th and I'm planning on staying in the area until the 13th or 14th (flexible between the two - need to head back to Berlin where I'm flying out of on the 15th morning). I have about 1.5 days (Dec 8-9) planned for Munich itself, and wanted to spend the rest of the time (Dec 10-13/14) doing some day trips to nearby areas.
Some of the places I want to visit are:
- Salzburg (maybe Hallstatt too if there's time)
- Neuschwanstein/Fussen
- Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Mittenwald
- maybe Innsbruck?
I could do these as actual day trips and come back to Munich each night, but that doesn't seem to be very efficient. Does anyone have any recommendations on an order of events that would be the most practical/feasible to do all or some of these? Also any tips on transportation between the places would be very helpful as well!
For additional context, I'm traveling solo and planning to stay at hostels so I can meet other travelers! I don't think I'll have a rental car but can maybe get one if that's the best method. I won't actually be doing any skiing if I go to Garmisch and I don't mind if I don't go inside Neuschwanstein (so I can potentially be quick).
Thanks so much for your help!! This is my first time solo-traveling, so I'm getting pretty nervous/stressed. But I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun! :)
