Planning to take family trip in May (USA -> Europe) for 2 weeks. It's our first international trip and I'm wondering about travel insurance. Is this something people usually use? In general do you think it's better to book stays and rail tickets using the more expensive (but cancellable) rates, or get travel insurance and book everything non-refundable?
