Me and my girlfriend have been wanting to travel from europe to USA with the end goal of reaching WA. (We want to do a nerdy twin peaks trip, staying at ”the great northern” and so on).
We are now looking at getting some advice from americans.
As we see it we have a couple of ways of doing this.
One way would be to fly directly to Seattle from Finland(quite expensive but quick and easy). Only downside is that we would also like to see more of the country.
Alternatively we could see ourselves going for a long roadtrip from somewhere on the north-east coast all the way through the northern states to washington. How much time would it roughly take to traverse this kind of a distance by car, with stops and some sightseeing? How much money are we roughly talking about in regards to gasoline and a rental? Are there a lot of things to see in the northern states.
Another way would be to fly to, let’s say new york, and fly domestically from there after spending some time in the city. How expensive are domestic flights generally from say new york to seattle. Downside is the same as the first option but we would get to spend some time in another city and it might be cheaper travel costs?
I know there is alot of questions here and we haven’t really planned or looked into things. We would just like to hear some viewpoints, experiences and getting some advice if someone wants to take some time to help us in some sort of direction.
Amount of time we could put into this trip is very flexible!
Thank you!
