Canadian looking to get away from the miserable weather...any suggestions?

I need to get away from this miserable weather in Canada...amy suggestions?

I plan to go in February or March. First I desperately needed some sun so I thought I would go to Florida or California but I’m going alone and don’t drive either, so there is not much sightseeing in those two places.

Would Europe be a good destination for sightseeing (re: I love exploring history) but not for getting some Vitamin D?

My budget is $1k-2k. This is my first time taking a solo vacation ever so I would like to plan ahead of time. I’m 25F.
