Chargeback Global Entry Fees?

When we bought Global Entry we were promised we'd "only" have to drive 3 hours (to Charlotte) to have an interview.

Shortly after taking the plunge, we tried to make an appointment, and apparently b/c of the border crisis, most of the agents have been relocated to TX and the closest appointment last time we checked was in arizona or some BS.

They give you one year to have the appt. It expires in March, but we don't have any planned travel before that date.

I'd like to do a credit card chargeback (b/c contacting them via email is of course a black hole and you can never talk to anyone) so I see it as my only option.

There's a warning on the gov web site that they'll 'send you a bill' if you do this.

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and if I'll regret doing it?

I feel like we've made an honest try to live up to our end of the bargain, but b/c this is a US govt institution, there's no accountability on the customer service front.

Any advice is appreciated.
