Hello everyone, I’m a 20 yo Frenchman, and I am facing a dilemma. This summer, I want to travel, either alone or with a friend. I want to truly live a groundbreaking journey, either in the US or Brazil. First, I really would like to go woofing (working in a collective farm without payment but with food and bed) for 5 weeks and then roadtripping for 3 weeks from SF to San Diego and then few days in Mexico DC. It’s a good option because the US is safer than Brazil, I know it a little, it’s a culture I’m more familiar with, and I would spend a lot less money because the majority of my travel will be without having to pay an hotel or buy food. But there is an enormous inconvenient : the car is necessary in California, and during my road trip I won’t be able to visit a lot of places (+ the bus network is awful). I will be able to go to the cities but not the national parks (which are perhaps more interesting). Brazil seems also very nice. I don’t know anything about the country, much more exotic than the US, it’s an unknown culture, and I will be able to visit way more sites thanks to the good and cheap bus network. I would like to visit the country from Fortaleza to Florianopolis, for 2 months. The inconvenient there is that, even if it is not an expensive country, I will have to pay everything : food, transports, hostel... and it is not as safe as the US. My budget must be reasonable, I can afford a high sum but it cannot be too much.
What do you think ? Thanks !
