I hear that some countries won't let you in if your passport expires within 6 months. I figured I could just use my Irish passport to get into Costa Rica then use my US passport to get back into the US.
My other option is the pay $200ish to get a new passport expedited but I'm pretty close to the deadline on that. The other problem is that I need to send my old passport with the renewal application and if I don't get it back in time then I would have to just travel with my Irish passport. I don't even know how that would work in regards to coming back to the US.
Any advice on which route I should go with this?
