I’m planning a backpacking trip to the philippines and we only have time for 1 “island” (I understand all of the Philippines are islands). We will be in Moalboal and then we will go to an island for 4-5 nights and we are weighing the options.
Some of our group loves surfing and most of us love the crystal clear water, palm fringed beaches, fun island hopping with great beaches, and a moderate amount of nightlife so we thought Siargao would be perfect for us. For reference we loved Gili Air and Nusa Lembongan.
After doing research it seemed like Siargao touched all those bases (great nearby island to go to, world class surfing, nice beaches, the rock pools, palm tree road, sugba lagoon/sohoton cove, general Luna nightlife.
However i searched through some recent posts on this subreddit it seems like people are saying there isn’t a ton to do in siargao? Is my group better off going to an island like El Nido, Coron, Bantayan, or Malapascua? Any advice is appreciated thank you!
