I posted here a week or so ago about doing a road trip through Europe. I was quickly informed that a road trip through Europe is not the same as a road trip through the US and I decided to change my plan and take trains and other forms of travel.
I am hoping for reccommendations for the last leg of my trip. This is what I have so far.
26yo Male solo traveler from the U.S. traveling to Europe for the first time in mid March. Just under 3 weeks of travel time. I am looking for the best food, coffee, drinks, and nightlife I can find. I love mountain regions but am also open to seasides. Basically, I am not super picky, I just want something that is decidedly not the U.S.
France: The length of each city is subject to change based on how much I like each spot. The only thing I need to keep constant is being in Paris on Night 8 to catch my train to Italy. Arrive in Paris CDG on day 1 Day 1 and 2 in Paris Day 3 and 4 in Nantes (Should I do Nantes or maybe something in south?) Day 5 and 6 in Lyon Day 7 and 8 in Paris then night train on day 8 to Florence (already booked) Day 9 and 10 in Florence Day 11 and 12 in Bologna Not sure where to go from here. I have 19 total days, leaving on Day 20. I have looked at Athens, Budapest, Dresden, Salzburg, and a few others.
Is Amsterdam worth the hype? Should I stay and explore Italy really well? Where would I stay if I wanted to see mountains in Switzerland or Austria? I would love to do some hiking with a guide.
I plan on staying in hostels and the like throughout my trip, some may be booked last minute in order to allow freedom.
I am not opposed to flying within europe, I just don't want to eat up too much of my time in airports.
I have hundreds of questions so I would love any and all input!
