Another couple and ourselves are looking to plan a 4-5 day trip on mainland US. We’re all in our early/mid 30s, and will be without the kids.
My wife and I really enjoyed the balance of Hawaii with all the hiking and rafting, but loved going back to our resort at the end of the day or hitting the town at night.
We’d love something similar but without the long flight (flying from the NY metro area). Doesn’t have to be tropical by any means. I keep pushing for the Midwest/western part of the country but just don’t know where. We’ll probably be traveling May-July.
Ideally we would like a mix of ~25% outdoors, ~10% historical attractions, ~65% eating & drinking.
Edit: Months of travel
