Wife (22) and I (27) are trying to plan a trip to Colombia (Cartagena/Barranquilla), middle of august any tips/advice?

We are having our big wedding reception/party because we eloped last year, and we want to plan a trip to my home country, literally any advice would be welcome because I'm a caveman at planning, thanks in advance!
