I have just heard I have time off at school. So, I will be able to take a trip from April 27th to May 12th.
I have always wanted to go to Georgia, so was going to take advantage of the chance. However I am concerned that hiking in the mountains will not be possible. I have read that access to khevsureti and tusheti may not be possible yet.
I have read that Svaneti is possible to access this time of year, I see Mestia and Ushguli commented on the most. However, some people comment that there is still lots of snow.. If a person is willing to give up hiking at higher altitudes in mountain passes, would it be possible to hike at lower altitudes?
Is lagodekhi national park a better choice?
I am familiar with hiking at higher altitudes, just not as familiar with Georgia's climate. Hoping someone with more expertise could comment. Would hate to go on a trip to a place I want to at the wrong time, as there are other places I would go if this isn't the best time to visit.
