JetBlue Change & Cancel Fees Waived for New Bookings due to Coronavirus

JetBlue announced 2/26/20 that they are suspending change and cancel fees for all new flight bookings made between February 27, 2020 and March 11, 2020 for travel through June 1, 2020. The waiver applies both to flights and JetBlue vacation itineraries booked starting tomorrow 2/27; however, it passengers with previously purchased tickets are not currently eligible given that there are no current travel restrictions on United States domestic travel or to any of the international destinations served by JetBlue. More information is posted at https://www.jetblue.com/travel-alerts.

This waiver appears to be in a response to a drop in bookings this week after announcements from the CDC, other countries, and the stock market sell-off. Do you think other airlines will step up to match the flexibility being offered by JetBlue for travelers uncertain on whether to book travel?
