I had a flight this Saturday 21st from LAS-MEX with Viva Aerobus.
I live in SF so was meant to fly with Delta to Vegas, and then catch this second flight. When I called VivaAerobus to tell them that :
- there's a shelter-in-place in SF and cannot therefore travel
- even my initial flight to Vegas got therefore obviously cancelled.
- are in the US on a visa so if they close the borders cannot return here nor go back home in Europe (my country closed airport).
After long conversation, they agreed to change to a later date (for free), but from today till October 2020 there was no flight at this price [allegedly - despite being online at half what we paid]. They said I can get another date but have to pay about ~$80 extra.
Legally, can they get away with this ? I'm quite annoyed because between 2 of us we paid $300.
Thank you
