I have a round-trip flight to Paris booked with WestJet for April 17-May 13. Is it better to change/cancel now or wait for the airline to cancel it?
So WestJet has waived all change or cancellation fees, and if I were to cancel my flight now, I would just receive a credit to be used toward a future flight.
However, I was wondering, if I waited until April 17 rolled around and they told me it was cancelled (which I’m sure it will, as things don’t seem to be getting better and travel bans seem to only be tightening up), wouldn’t the airline have to refund me to my original form of payment? I feel like that only makes sense as I’m not the one who’s refusing to go (although I would be lol), they’re the ones who’s unable to provide the service I paid for.
I would prefer to have the full proper refund because duh, that’s real money instead of WestJet dollars.
