Can I fly to Canada as a US citizen right now?

This is probably a stupid post but the wording is quite confusing in official documents.

So, can I fly to Canada from the US? I’m a US citizen.

Not really travelling for fun, my lease ends here in the US on April 31st and I have a lease for a place in Montreal starting May 1st. Already paid security deposit and quite frankly I have nowhere else to go and no money to find somewhere. I am obligated to pay rent for May but it seems ridiculous if I can’t be there

Airlines basically said they don’t know and I could be turned away after getting off the plane.

So, what do you think my chances are? I’d be travelling from the US
