Hey all, I know this topic is pretty played out, but I’m currently wrestling with Expedia trying to get a refund on the flight I booked with them in February. The hubs and I had planned to leave for Iceland on the 29th of this month, but obviously with COVID that’s not happening. I cancelled our flights last week and the best Expedia will give me is a voucher for use within the next 12 months. Supposedly the airline (Icelandair) is only offering a 12 month voucher for flights booked through another provider. Pretty standard stuff but obviously I’d prefer money in my pocket, especially with all of the uncertainty surrounding the future of international travel. Any tips on how I might be able to get our money back? I saw a post with a bunch of great info a few weeks back but can’t seem to find it again and obviously I didn’t save it because I’m a big dumb idiot. Any advice?
(I think someone in that post had mentioned disputing the charge with your bank/credit card company and/or something else about mentioning the Department of Transportation or something of that nature)
