If you had your choice, which Northwest USA city would you choose to live in for 2 months and why? Adventure opportunity for my family and I need recommendations.

My Husband and I have the opportunity to travel this August and September ( maybe longer) and want to stay in a Northwest city somewhere in Montana, Idaho, Colorado, Oregon, Wyoming, or Colorado. We’ve lived in the east our entire lives and are exploring the possibility of moving to a new state. We travel to the Northwest every year at least once and absolutely love it. We generally stay in Bend, and Portland Oregon, or Jackson Wyoming and will road trip to all the above mentioned states anytime we’re out there. We both work from home and can work anywhere as long as we have a good internet connection.

We have a 9 year old son, and a 10 month old son and want to find a family friendly and safe area that offers a lot of activities and opportunities for a family. We love the outdoors; hiking, biking, camping fishing, and hunting. We’d like to try cross-country skiing, but it’s not a priority.

We both have 4-wheel drive vehicles just in case weather is an issue.

We’re looking to spend somewhere around $3K to $5K on an airbnb or similar each month.

My husband likes the idea of Bozeman, Missoula, and Boise, but we’d love recommendations and advice on cities we should consider.
