Girlfriend and I want to take a 10 day trip at the beginning of August before she sacrifices herself to grad school. We'll probably rent a car. We live in NYC. No idea what to do. She's from Connecticut, I'm from New Jersey, and I've been to Boston, Ithaca NY, Bar Harbor ME, and briefly used to live in Western Mass (Northampton area). Willing to go as far South/West as PA, and as far North as Maine (pretty sure we're not allowed in Canada at the moment but if we are then that's fair game too).
We're open to outdoorsy stuff given the circumstances, but don't have a lot of experience. I used to work on a tour across the US so I'm good with driving long distances (Maine to Alabama in two days, for instance), but haven't done it for fun ever.
After reading FAQ and some other posts I have some possible options, but I have no idea how the current situation has affected these recs
-Burlington, VT
-Camping in NH
-Rochester and Buffalo NY
-Finger Lakes (NY)
-Cape Cod/Martha's Vineyard/Nantucket (MA)
-Acadia (ME)
Budget: N/A. What do you folks think?
