I’ve been kind of trapped in the US, but in a few weeks I’ll be traveling back to France for my job. I’ll have 2.25 liters of alcohol (bourbon, vodka, store-bought moonshine) as gifts and for personal use, but the duty-free limit is 1 liter of spirits. I’ve scoured the EU import laws in English and French, but nowhere does it tell me exactly how much I’ll have to pay. Does each country do it differently, and do any of you know how much extra I’d have to pay to France (assuming they bother charging me) for the extra 1.25 liters of spirits?
