I am a gay male and have caught the travel bug and want to see the whole world. It's a goal of mine to visit every country however that includes the 7 countries where it is punishable by death legally, around 10 countries where deaths are not investigated and ~70 where it is an imprisonable offence. A lot of the countries that are high on my list have extreme laws (Iran - death, Uzbekistan - prison, Bhutan - prison, Caribbean - prison - death) which makes it hard as well.
A bit of context, my gayness is theoretical even in my home country where there is gay marriage and it is very much accepted and even though I'm out I haven't got anything on my social media that indicates it. I keep my private life very private (even though I barely have one) and know how to hide it. Most countries (from what I've read) need proof that someone is gay in order to make arrests which made me think that if I just went about being in the closet and not bring up my philosophies around it, it would be fine.
Is it possible and/or viable for me to travel to these countries (post the virus of course) or should I give up on/delay this goal until the world is most accepting? Thank you in advance!
