So in late September I'm moving from Canada to the UK as a Master's student (travelling on a Tier 4 visa). I own a 6 year old cat who is microchipped, up-to-date on his vaccinations and in great health. I've gone through the guidelines from the UK government for requirements for travel and feel confident my vet and I have got it down. Where I'm less confident is actually getting him on the plane. Obviously airlines are limited at the moment, so I've settled on Air Transat because they're actually authorized to bring pets into the UK, and their tickets are under 400$ for one-way, but I was hoping to hear from someone who's experienced this. I'm also wondering if anyone knows what the "Additional fees" are that they mention on their website - is that on top of the 275CAD which is the cargo fee to Europe? I have emailed them but they haven't gotten back to me, their phone lines are constantly busy, and Google is no help on the specifics. I have looked into pet shipping companies but the quotes are anywhere from 1600$ to 2000$, which is too much for me. Any help or advice is appreciated!
