My family and I made travel plans back in the beginning of June to travel to Turks And Caicos from Aug. 1-9 and we didn’t realize till after that my passport had expired in March. We decided to keep the trip since passport agencies were beginning to open and we had hopes they would be in phase 3 before our trip so I could get my passport expedited; however, things in CA are getting worse and there’s no progress in reopening at our passport agencies so there appears to be no hope there. However, on my hotel’s website ( https://www.thesandstc.com/rates-and-reservations/overview/ ) it states:
United States citizens will now be permitted to enter the Turks and Caicos Islands once they are able to show: 1. a valid passport OR 2. a U.S. Government-issued photo ID and an online receipt indicating that their passport application has been filed. This will remain in effect until further notice.
I should be getting my real ID sometime soon and was wondering if this (along with submitting my new passport application) will be sufficient enough to fly to Turks and Caicos. If the website is correct and I can fly there, will I have issues flying back to the US without my passport? I’m not sure if anyone would know but by any chance any ideas on who I can contact to see if this is still in effect and if it will be possible for me to travel there and back with my real ID? I could probably contact the hotel about the policy but I just don’t want any issues at the airport and would like to contact someone in that area to ensure I get correct information. Thank you in advance!
