Hello! My fiancé and I are getting married on October 10th if this year, and our Hawaiian honeymoon has been cancelled due to corona. We are trying to find a new honeymoon destination.
We want to follow all travel rules and avoid crowded (major tourist) spots. We are having such a hard time finding something that feels “honeymoon worthy”.
We live in northeast Ohio and are willing to travel ~12 hrs away. Our second choice was Maine/general New England area, however a lot of states in that region are restricting travel in from Ohio.
Other destinations we’ve considered are: - Northern Michigan - Louisville KY / Nashville - Ozarks - Great Smokey Mountains / Asheville, NC - Poconos - Eastern West Virginia
We are usually car campers, but would prefer to stay in a cabin/airBNB for this trip. Generally we like to do outdoor things but pretty casually. We usually kayak, hike, sight see, eat and drink while we are on vacation. We’ve got about 7-10 days planned for our trip.
I’m looking for some insight on any of the places we’ve considered, or recommendations for anywhere that would be an awesome vacation!
