My girlfriend and I are currently interested in purchasing something to travel in. We are unsure on what exactly to get but have a few ideas with pros and cons of each one. We want something to mainly sleep in so we can save money on lodging.We enjoy road tripping and visiting multiple locations along the trip .
Neither of us have ever owned anything like this but she has camped her entire life in towing campers. Our price range is below 20 grand, preferably cheaper the better since this will be our first purchase and we can always upgrade. Also smaller the better in our opinion
To begin with we are mainly unsure if we should get a small towing camper or a drivable camper. So I would like to hear people's suggestions. So far , the pros and cons are if we get a towing camper we need to get a vehicle to tow but we would be able to park the camper and visit areas with our vehicle along with having a kitchen and bathroom, compared to if we got a driving camper we would have a hard time parking at some attractions and they are more exspensive.
We have also thought about going the van life option and transforming a transit or something similar into a travel van type ordeal. But this would not allow us to have a bathroom and kitchen.
I can answer any questions people have to get a better idea of what we want but I would just like to hear from some people who are experienced in this area of traveling.
