Obviously not for quite a while, but I am planning a 2 week trip with one other person. We are looking at the pacific north west and considering splitting our time between oregon and Washington, 5 days each, but I am worried a little about the scenery we'll see (we're both very very novice hikers) and ambience overall being pretty too similar to be worth the time split. Any insights on the cultural differences between the two states?
Perhaps, I'm wondering, if it would be better to dedicate the whole trip to Oregon and split the time between the coastal area and the more mountainous region farther inland, or a city/rural split in just one of the two states?
