Hi! My wife and I are looking to take a much needed vacation for a week. Because of COVID we would like to stay in driving distance and have decided on the New England sea side towns. I have approximately 2 weeks off starting end of August through September so I am sure there will be limited availability second to labor day (and lots of traffic).
With all that said-- does anyone have advice on where I should stay for the week?
I am between Newport, Cape cod (various towns?), Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard though I feel the latter two would be out of budget.
Looking to spend 300 +/- 100 on accommodation a night.
My wife is pregnant so we are mostly looking for some R and R before the baby comes.
We are big foodies, want to lounge on the beach, love wine and beer (me only this time). I would love to rent a boat if possible. She loves beautiful, gilded aged mansions.
With that said where would you recommend I stay and any insight into a base itinerary? Are there must see day trips? (i.e. if I stayed in newport should I go to nantucket one day and marthas one day?)
