Cathay Pacific cancelled my flight from Sydney to Paris. They gave me credit but the only other flights they are running are $10,000?!

I am really frustrated with Cathay Pacific. They have changed the dates for my flight a couple of times but now they have finally cancelled it. They are not really giving me any option here by only giving me credit.

I have requested for a refund but that process might take up a couple of months.

Are there any practical things I could in regards to speeding up the refund process? I really cannot afford another ticket at this stage and the timing of my flight is not negotiable.
