TLDR: Me & my friends want to go to Iceland, but I believe that we are too young to rent a car (17 and 18 years old.) How can we get around the country?
So me and a few friends are thinking about a trip in Europe this coming summer, and Iceland is a top choice for a few of us (some others were Spain, Italy, and Belgium.) We are mostly 17, and one of us will be 18 by summer. Due to our young age that puts us at a disadvantage in Iceland as I have seen that the general lowest age for a car rental age is 20. Iceland is fairly small, however it’s not small enough to get around on a bike. I believe that using Uber to travel long distances (3-6 hours) would be impractical and costly (we’re in high school, give us a brake!) So I ask, what ways might there be for some 17 year olds + one 18 year old to traverse a good amount of the country without being able to rent a car.
