Like many of you, I really miss travel. I’ve been a digital nomad for six years and have visited over 80 countries, but now I’ve been stuck in my home state in the US since March. It’s really starting to drive me crazy.
I’ve been toying with the idea of a road trip, as I’m poorly traveled in the US. However, I’m not sure how much I’d enjoy it. Considering current restrictions and best practices concerning the present situation, it seems like there’s really not much to do. I like to visit local attractions, eat at local restaurants, see museums and meet locals, but all of that seems off the menu for the time being.
I guess that leaves nature. I do enjoy hiking, specifically day hikes. I’m not into multi-day treks or camping.
So it seems like I’d just be driving around, going on a few walks, getting food deliveries and watching Netflix in different time zones. It hardly seems too appealing, but maybe I’m looking at it all wrong.
Experienced road trippers, do you have any input? Is there something I’m missing? Also, if you have any destination suggestions, let me know. I’m based in Mississippi and I’m not looking for any hot or beach destinations.
Thanks!
