So me and my partner (both English and in our 30's) are planning on a big American road trip once covud has died down in a few years. I'm looking at hotels so we can get an idea of what to save and lots of them say they need a 'breakage' deposit. What is that? If we are only staying one night in a $70 a night hotel paying a $200 deposit seems a bit crazy. Also are there any city taxes? I know these get paid in Europe but im not sure about the US. Thanks in advance.
