I’m a 24F, I need a long and quiet break from New York City. I’m looking for a relaxing place in the eastern time zone.
I would like to go for 2 weeks in early- mid November
Budget: 1,000~ish for lodging, ideally finding a nice Airbnb to post up in for the whole time (would love a view of a lake/landscape etc but that may be wishful thinking)
Budget for other items such as food/everything else, doesn’t matter to me too much. I plan on staying home or spending time in nature.
I have a car, I’m willing to drive up to 8 hours to the location, but ideally would like 3-6 hours away.
I will likely be going alone, and while I’d love somewhere remote, maybe not TOO remote, just for safety reasons.
I’m mainly going to try and feel a sense of space from the city. My priority isn’t local activities or anything, although a light hike would be nice. I’m not outdoor-savvy, I have zero survival skills.
I’m mostly looking for a relaxing location, perhaps a cool lake, mountain area, or just area with a lot of farm land/hill space. Again, the activities around aren’t important to me. I’m planning on making my own food at my Airbnb, reading, painting and just taking a break.
I don’t know the north east very well, and would appreciate any suggestion! I have done some google searches and I haven’t found anything very concrete, besides maybe the finger lakes, stow mountain in VT, but I’m not sure!
Any suggestions appreciated!
