Pink hair in passport photo?

Hi, all!!

I’ve had white-blonde hair with a subtle pink tint for a little while now but just realized I need to renew my US passport!

I’m going to get a new photo taken, but cannot find out if semi-pink hair is allowed in the photo. I’ve looked on government websites and other FAQ sites but can’t find anything confirming or denying whether unnatural hair color is allowed. I was told smiling isn’t allowed in US passport photos but my current one is of me smiling...so that’s also not helpful ha.

Are we also allowed makeup? I look a bit crusty these days and was hoping to have a passport photo that won’t haunt me like this last one has.

Any advice you can think of will be super helpful!
