Long haul travellers with cats (20+ hours), in youre experience how do you keep your cat comfortable and calm during a long flight?
I'll be flying soon (total flight time 23.5 hours) with a cat. I've never done this before and I'm worried my cat will be freaking out on such a long trip. My cat has only travelled in a crate for about 2 hours (car) and he will meow non stop and loudly (nervous meow). We will be moving soon and he will have to be in a crate for 25-26 hours (total time in crate from home to destination). He has also never been in a plane before and he gets scared enough in the car. We will be bringing him in the cabin with us. I'm worried about helping him remain calm and also the bathroom situation. He is an indoor cat that won't even go to the garage because he is to scared. I'm thinking of buying a "calm collar" and maybe asking the vet about some medication just in case. The bathroom situation is my other concern. Does anybody have any experience or insight in this situation?
Thank you to any and all who help, it will be greatly appreciated.
