National Parks Pass, is it worth it?

Im planning a huge trip, from TX thru NM, AZ, CA, maybe OR, not sure if I want to go that far North or instead thru NV, UT and CO. I have unlimited time, and I want to visit a lot of state parks. I dont really plan on camping in too many of them, mainly finding my own free dispersed BLM land spots. But, I figure if I get the Parks Pass, itll save me a lot of headache as far as day passes go. On the site where you get the pass, it doesnt go into a whole lot of detail. So Im wondering how worth it would be? Instead of paying day pass fees at each park, Id be good with the pass, right? I wonder if theres any other kind of perk, like maybe a discount for camping if I do want to camp inside one of the parks? Am I missing anything? Can I do more with one of these, or is it pretty basic?

Even if not, the amount of parks I am planning on going to the pass would probably definitely be worth it because it would end up costing more if I pay at each one individually.

Does anyone have one of these passes, and could you tell me more about it and if Im thinking along the right lines?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies!
