I will be in Burlington/Stowe, VT area for three days in June- What should I see and do?

I'll be in Vermont in June for the first time with a small group that likes history, light hiking, shopping, and good food and drink. What should I see and what should I avoid? Also, should I spend more time in Stowe or Burlington?
