Mexico, hooking up - safe?

Hey guys, planning to go to Mexico in a few weeks with friends. But now I’m worried about safety. These friends want to have flings and hook up with others while we are there for ten days. I’m not that type of person anyways but still worries me.

Like is it safe to go right now during the current times? Just don’t want to risk it with my friends hooking up with others while I’m there in Mexico City with them.
