I have trip scheduled to Uzbekistan for a 3 month stay. I'd like to fly Emirates and spend a couple days in Dubai. I take medicine for anxiety. I know UAE is known for its strict list of restricted meds, although there is way to register meds and get governmental approval for 30 day supply. For unrestricted meds, I can bring 3 months worth
The problem occurs that I need 3 months of medicine and if it's restricted, I can't bring enough. Complicating matters, one list the government supplies on its embassy site contains the names of my meds. On the other hand, the minister of health has a list that does not list my medication. I do NOT want to run afoul with customs in UAE.
Has anyone dealt with this issue when entering UAE? How strict was customs in checking your meds? Did they ask to see notes from your doctors and print out of your prescriptions? If I do need to register my meds and only bring 30 days, has anyone dealt with trying to get a prescription abroad?
Any suggestions appreciated.
