Planning a trip to Colombia and staying in Leticia/the Amazon River in the South. I'm looking at the tour/lodge options and I'm unsure what's best. Older threads said Yoi Ecotours but I'm looking at other possibilities. Any ideas?
I'm going with one other person.
There are a couple companies that do this; one option I'm leaning towards is a 4 day/3 night 'Culture and Jungle Tour' from Amazon Fronteras for $394 per person. It's all-inclusive and your day is planned out, featuring a good mix of being in nature and cultural experiences.
There is also Yoi Ecotours, which is the one all the past threads talk about. For the same time frame (4 day 3 night) it's $497 per person. The activities look pretty similar so the price difference isn't worth it to me, but I'm willing to hear otherwise.
Does anybody have experience with other guide companies that do this?
I'd also love to have any general Colombia recommendations. We are thinking we might spend a few days outside of the amazon, but personally we are most interested in nature, archaeology/anthropology, and local culture, so I'm not sure if we would like the kind of attractions in Bogota and Medellin - we've been to enough large cities.
